Fabricator / Welder – Night Shift

Job title: Sheet Metal fabricator (Night shift)
Location: Letchworth, Hertfordshire
Terms: Permanent (Full-time)
Salary/rate: Hourly (Competitive) + night shift allowance (x 1.33). Including 25 Days paid holiday + bank holidays
Working hours: 40-hour week, Monday – Thursday (17:00pm – 03:00am). Fridays off due to 4-day 10hr shift pattern. Overtime readily available.

About us:
Stevenage sheet metal manufactures high quality engineered parts to a variety of industries from pharmaceutical through to automotive. SSM has over 45 years of experience within manufacturing and specialises in sheet metal laser cutting, fabrication and welding.

About the role:
Working with a variety of materials to assemble and weld components to an exceptional quality to meet our customers’ requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sub-assemblies
  • Measure, cut, and weld pieces together in accordance to customer specifications
  • Weld using predominantly T.I.G but can also M.I.G weld
  • Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind surface and joints to achieve seamless appearance
  • Ensure all jobs are complete on time and to the desired qualityManage welding rods storage
  • Ensure all quality standards and safety guidelines are adhered to throughout the facility
  • Cleaning and maintenance of equipment

Candidate requirements:

  • Able to read interpret engineering drawings
  • High attention to detail – work to tight dimensional tolerances
  • Ability to work independently without daily supervision
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • 5 Year Experience in a similar role
